Your first officer for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Duopilo reads your aircraft through SimConnect and takes the Pilot Monitoring seat. It calls out, watches the limits, works the radio and listens to you – locally on your PC, without push-to-talk. You keep flying.

A flight with Duopilo
From the first checklist to the runway exit, Duopilo does what the second pilot does.
-
Before departure
Load your SimBrief plan and Duopilo knows the route, fuel figures and top of descent. Your first officer gets a name and a voice for the flight, and you run the checklists by voice, challenge and response.
You: Before start checklist
-
Clearance and taxi
Call Delivery, Ground and Tower on Duopilo's own ATC, with a readback check and a voice for each station. On the ground it tells you when you taxi too fast.
Duopilo: Taxi speed
-
Takeoff and climb
The callouts a real Pilot Monitoring makes: one hundred knots, V1, rotate, positive climb, flaps with a speed check, ten thousand, transition altitude.
Duopilo: Ten thousand
-
Cruise
At every waypoint of the plan Duopilo compares your fuel with the plan. ATC hands you from sector to sector, oceanic included, and traffic comes with clock position and distance. Small talk with your first officer is optional.
Duopilo: HENDY, fuel 34.1, 2.2 below plan
-
Descent and approach
Top of descent, sink rate, bank angle and – with an aircraft profile – localizer and glideslope deviation. At 2000 feet it checks gear, landing flaps and spoilers for you.
Duopilo: Landing checklist complete
-
Landing
Spoilers, reverse green, decel, seventy knots – then the after landing checklist.
Duopilo: Reverse green
Two ways to fly with it
Use Duopilo on its own, connect Claude, or both at once.
On its own
Everything runs on your PC. No account, no language model, no push-to-talk – made for VR as well.
- Callouts and monitoring, spoken by Duopilo
- Voice loop: commands, queries and checklists in English or German
- ATC from Delivery to Ground, oceanic included
- Inputs on your call for FCU, EFIS, lights, gear and flaps – locked until you enable them
With Claude
Duopilo is also an MCP server. Claude reads altitude, speed, configuration, navigation, weather and ATC itself instead of you reading them out, and can reason about them.
- Claude Desktop on the sim PC
- claude.ai and the Claude app through a remote connector
- Claude Code and other MCP clients
Needs a Claude plan. How to connect Claude
How Duopilo behaves
The pilot decides
Duopilo reads everything but operates switches only on your call, with hard interlocks. Engines, thrust, fuel, fire and hydraulics are off limits.
Crew language is English
Callouts, checklists, warnings and radio are always English, like in a real cockpit. Commands work in English and German, and the dashboard speaks both.
The simulator comes first
Speech recognition and voices run on the CPU with few threads, and only after you have spoken. There is no local language model competing with MSFS.
No guessing
If an aircraft doesn't expose a value, the related callout stays off instead of being wrong.
Download
Duopilo 0.10.0-beta.9 Beta
Release notes and checksums are on GitHub. Updates install over the old version and keep your settings.
The first public release is coming soon
Until then you can build Duopilo from source.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Optional: a microphone for the voice loop, a SimBrief account, a Claude plan
Aircraft
The basics work with any aircraft. Airliner details such as FMA, ECAM and inputs come with the bundled profiles for the FlyByWire A32NX and A380X, Headwind A330-900neo and iniBuilds A321LR. Aircraft profiles
SimConnect is part of Microsoft's MSFS 2024 SDK and isn't included in the download. If it's missing, Duopilo offers to download Microsoft's SDK installer straight from Microsoft, checks it against the known checksum and starts it.
Flight plan data – route, fuel figures, times and weights – come from your latest SimBrief OFP, because airliner FMSs don't share their route with other programs. Duopilo fetches it through SimBrief's public API using your SimBrief username or pilot ID; no password is needed. Without a SimBrief plan, the comparisons against the plan (fuel checks, progress) are missing.
Free and open source
Duopilo is free and released under the MIT license. Found wrong data, a missing callout or a bug? The dashboard's Report a problem button prepares an issue with everything needed. Translations are welcome too.
